BG Youth Group
Sadly the teenage years in a young humans life are largely seen as the time to be careless and make mistakes. Its the “You Only Live Once” mentality. The fact of the matter is though that many peoples lives are greatly changed by the decisions made while they were teenagers, and this can be for the best or for the worst. Here we try to give the youth in our congregation a good start, we hope that the decisions made and the experiences lived out while teenagers will help them create a better future of loving God and simply getting to live a better life. Here are some experiences that you will get being apart of the Blooming Grove Church of Christ Youth Group!
Leadership
Much of the Youth of the congregation get involved with programs like L2L (Lads 2 Leaders/Leaderettes). It is a program that can get you as a teenager (or even very young children) to get out of your comfort zone and learn Christian leadership qualities.
This program, and those of our own, are not just an annual thing. We encourage the youth and families of the congregation to work on leadership qualities throughout the year. This can help you earn more points, and accomplish goals for the convention, while also getting you more accustomed to the roles as leaders you will have in the future as an adult. Discipleship
The word “Disciple” comes from the Greek word that means “one who engages in learning through instruction from another”. A Disciple of Jesus Christ is someone that follows Him and His teachings. As a Church we have failed in our mission if a young soul walks away from the congregation as an adult without proper knowledge of God’s word. If you were to be apart of our Youth Group we would spend much time with you personally to help you understand the word of God.
We spend time studying the word during Bible class hours on Sunday morning and Wednesday night, while also having devotionals throughout the summertime.
Friendship
The beauty of God’s design in His church is that we have a multitude of likeminded individuals that are our family. The Youth Group here gets to grow friendships that will last a lifetime. We have fun times together through hangouts, camps, and days going out together.
